I count it a blessing when I get to capture a mother and her child. There is something so magical, even divine about the bond a mother and child share. There is nothing quit like it. Thank you Sally and Stone for letting me freeze these moments for you. I hope you cherish them forever.

I was so excited when I got the message from Jessica from Joyfolie asking me to photograph her new women's line of shoes. I knew this was right up my ally! We have similiar taste and I adore all of her products. We both agreed that Samantha would be the perfect model. I adore working with her and am so excited for her the career that lies before her. This girl has serious talent. I was also fotunate enough to book one of the Tri-cities most beautiful historical homes/events center, the Moore Mansion (Pasco, WA), for this shoot. I absolutley loved shooting here and I hope they'll have me back again. From the rustic staircase to the southern charm veranda, we had lots of gorgeous backdrops to choose from! They even let us sneak inside one of the upstairs bedrooms and we ended up getting some of my favorite shots in there.
I love working on projects like these, showcasing gorgeous product. If you haven't checked out the Joyfolie website, hop on over and don't forget to look at her gorgeous children's line of shoes. to.die.for.

Well hello there! Come on in, and welcome to my new studio space. I'd love to give you a tour. Pour yourself a cup of coffee (if your like me, you'll add some raw sugar and a dash of cream), maybe grab a scone, and lets go in!
I've mulled over and over the decision as to whether I should rent a studio space locally or use what I have in the comfort of my own home. A lot of my readers know that we just recently finished building a new home. Well, we had a 350 sq ft bonus room above the garage that we just weren't sure what to do with. The problem... has been solved.
Because my business thrives off of relationships, and because I love to get personal with my clients, I decided that the most fitting space would be right here where love and relationships abound. I wanted it to be cozy, beautiful, elegant, and for people to get a sense of who I am when they walk into the space. What better way to get to know me than for a client to walk the halls of my own home? Seeing how I use my families imagery to decorate my walls, hearing one my little girls laugh (or scream) coming from the playroom, or just seeing me in my own space can tell a lot about who I am before you even reach my studio.
It's not a large space, but its my space. Come on in!
**NOTE**: 90% of everything in the room was re-purposed. Aside from the flooring, rug, and a few accent pieces, everything was used, re-painted, or refurbished in some way.

The following images are the things lying on top of my packaging area. They are 2011 Senior gifts that are going out this week. I wanted my last years clients to receive a thoughtful graduation gift to let them know I am thinking about them. They are mini moleskin journals tied with twine and topped with a pencil and a beautiful quote that I just love: " Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman.

The last thing we will be doing is mounting a projector onto the ceiling. With the help of a portable projection screen, I can't wait to start showing clients their images super sized!
There you have it! I hope you enjoyed the tour of my new studio. I hope that this space sees many friendships born, many memories made, and brings inspiration and peace to those who enter it.
Two heads are better than one... this shoot is proof. I had an awesome opportunity to collaborate with talented Randi Edwards from Swoon. Her craftiness and artful eye make make her truly stand out from the crowd. Go check out her blog to see some gorgeous children's parties she has put together and fun crafty inspiration. We met up this spring to photograph a mock Children's party nestled in a sunlit orchard. Even better, we used our daughters as models. Randi set up the entire shoot, down to every last detail.
